Imagined ton be implemented in the Yunque National Forest in Puerto Rico, Palmera has been conceived with a dual-purpose in mind: 

• As a sanctuary for tourists exploring the National Park during the months of January to April.

• As a protective haven for the local population in the event of hurricanes occurring between August and October.
